Did you live there before the Loma Prieta Quake? Bookshop SC and the Cooper House were the mainstays on pacific Ave.. The scene is different now.. Still a nice area..

I lived there in the '50s. During the Great Flood in December 1955, water was up over the parking meters on Pacific Avenue. My friend George Kovalenko and I put in with our surfboards up by the Pasatiempo Golf Course and went down the river to the rivermouth. Every bridge was washed out and cars and even houses were floating down the river. The cops were going to arrest us, but got diverted with other things.
