love it.

brings me to wonder, if the Raven is "just resting" as the car stops,
or

is the Clever Fellow (the Raven of course),
waiting to hitch a ride?

I hate to dampen your spirit but I think your Raven is a Crow or Craw as they say in the local dialect in Scotland.
Ravens are about three times larger.

The main difference between a Raven and a Crow is that a Raven croaks "Nevermore!"

Ravens can be as clever as chimps

A Swedish study shows that corvids – birds of or resembling the crow family – can be just as smart at certain tasks as chimpanzees, even though their brains are very much smaller.

Corvids include ravens, crows, jackdaws, magpies and jays.
