saw a more sanitized version on t.v....

same general thought, someone once told me if travelling on one's own, always carry something which could be used for defense...he too suggested a axe...

quite a hyper lad. to anonymous: a more sanitized version must have had a lot of bleeps or empty spaces. fuck, yeah, mofo!

to Jess, yup, that version (cant even recal which news i read it on) somehow edited out all those...however, did it so skillfully, there were not even blank spaces...i wasnt even going to watch this one, as i had seen it prior, so i got quite a smile when i realized what was "gone"...

yup, a hyper lad, still and all, i think he's got a lot of potential...hope he finds a way or a person to get to his best.

Methinks they should give ritilin to the teachers since it affects adults somewhat like speed, as opposed to how it affects kids.

There was an article a few days ago about he percentage of kids getting Ritalin or other meds. Shocking. I was totally the type kid who would have been recommended for meds in my school days. I wonder if a lot of ADS could not be reclassified as "boring teachers." It's now a totally fucked scene, with money-grubbing Big Pharma and their minions colluding to control kids with too much energy (in addition to the kids that maybe do need meds).

Lloyd...yes...YES...more yes.

young creatures are meant to move, especially young male creatures.....recently watched live video of young male foal right after birth...gosh...golly...he skittered around much like young human fellows...---- activity is NOT a defect.. it is normal development..and especially energetic activity is normal male development...most likely contributing to (in general) males greater skills in math/science/co ordination, etc...

oh..re the Ritalin and such, did you all realize that in most schools (for sure in Canada), to get a kid (boy) designated as qualifying for this med, counts as "special ed" and HUGE extra in school funds?

mmmm

once i was sitting with a group of parents of young fellows, about thirty parents... twenty nine of thirty parents had been "approached" "hasseled" "encouraged" to submit the boy for diagnosis for ritalin...

mmmm

Sorry but that comment about huge extra in school funds is absolutely not true; costs of special ed programs are huge and schools do not want to be over their state average in identified students or they are negatively impacted. Being ADD or ADHD does not automatically qualify a student for special ed. I am a veteran educator who works with special ed and I have never worked with people who encourage over identification. Perhaps it happens in some places but it isn't the norm. The overmedication of young people, particularly boys, is a serious one and is truly out of control. I was identified at 7 as hyperactive (what they called it in my day) and my mom refused meds but made me do yoga. I see my ADD as a gift now. I am great at multitasking.

I had a job teaching "disaffected kids". Kids that they couldn't handle in the class room. We'd teach em in the woods. So picked up a roadkill deer on the way in one morning and dressed it and butchered it with the kids. Now these were young ADHD boys who couldn't concentrate for more than 5 minutes supposedly. Yet they were completely engaged and on it for over an hour. Biology, dissection, butchery....loads of lessons in there form them. They loved it and lead it with their interest.
