Correspondence, Love Letters and Advice*

I love doing this blog. The perfect medium for me. I don't have time for Facebook, and seldom tweet directly.
I often wonder about all the time I put into it, what with having to create and sell enough books to keep this publishing ship afloat. But lately I'm realizing the payback of getting comments on just about any subject I bring up. For example, the great comments I've gotten on home theater systems, music, where to go in Brooklyn, places to skate. Really, I've acted on lots of these comments, they've steered me in good directions. So thank you guys.
*This was the title of the "Letters to the Editor" section of the Rolling Stone newspaper in the '60s-'70s.

Well Lloyd, re " I often wonder about all the time I put into it"....
for this reader, at any rate, i have enjoyed and appreciated the end result of your time and effort.... It has taken me to places/thoughts/ideas that i likely would not have gotten to, otherwise.

As well, i have enjoyed the books of yours, which i purchased.

Sometimes it is at least part payback (for your time and effort) to know that others have enjoyed your work.

Please keep up the dialogue. If it ever stops , I'm heading to a porch, some where in Bolinas, with a pot of coffee and a pint of tequila.

Yeah, Lloyd, what PhilM said up there. If it ever stops, I'm joining Phil on that porch somewhere in Bolinas, too!

As someone said earlier, either here or maybe it was on Shelter Publications on FaceBook, "I wanna be just like Lloyd when I grow up."

Lloyd, I love your blog. I have the feeling that we would get along really well - I like your style. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and if you are ever headed up to Seattle, drop me a note - there are a couple of restaurant and pub recommendations I have for you, as well as some great houseboats and house barges you would like.

Hi Lloyd,

I first found your books in a bookshop in Totnes, Devon (England), probably the same shop where Scott Evans saw them! I now have most of your beautiful books. My first port of call every day after firing up my computer is your blog. I love your books and your blog and can only hope to meet you one day.

Keep up the inspiring work, although as you are so passionate about all you do I guess it doesn't really feel like work!

All the best,

Russell Webb (UK)

I'm french, the librairy of the just near little town, Sallanches, in Alps (France), have your book "Homework", I take it very often, and each time it's a real pleasure, I discover many details and beauty. I just buy it (I think it's the only book in french) for my nephew who is finishing his carpenter studies. Thanks for this so nice book.
