Just on the eastern border of Akron there are two Levitt (sp?) houses that are only a couple lots away from each other but on opposite sides of the street (Home St.). The first house is painted to match the brownstone in this picture, and the second is painted the most brilliant shades of lavender and purple. Was always taken aback by the sight of them whenever I drove by... Don't live in Akron anymore but I'll always remember those two houses!; June 23, 2012 at 1:42 PM

On the other hand, it seems a shame to paint a Brown Stone that has its own inherent style. Reminds me of seeing cool old timbers in buildings that are painted over, hiding the real beauty and wabi-sabi of the wood.

The practical hand sees that paint as future maintenance time/costs...
