Dear Lloyd... Thank you so much for the books you've created. I came across them through my Dad who was given Builders of the Pacific Coast as a gift for a tattoo he did... inside it read "dear Jim, here is some wood porn for you". I've always dreamed of a book that contains the images you've put together.
I cycled to this amazing tree building in France. I thought you might like to see it http://erinmacairt.blogspot.com/ .
Wishing you all the best, and look forward to your next book
Erin

Of the hundreds of houses, commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, churches, clubhouses and so on that I have either built or finished in a career that went a little too long, my all time favorite structure was a tree house that I built for an seven year old girl seventeen years ago.
It withstood any number of rowdy slumber parties, one tornado and three hurricanes over the years. The original owner is now pursuing her masters in Anthropology somewhere far away. Last year her father, an artist and one of my oldest friends, asked if I would take it down.
What an honor! Carefully dismantling and stacking those boards and chains and ropes that I remembered from almost two decades past was a kind of holy moment for me. That picture above captures the spirit of that moment perfectly!
A fine blog, I couldn't resist sharing it on twitter. Nice to read Tim's comment too. I am the proud owner of many architectural books but one I have on treehouses always makes me smile whenever I open the cover.
