Blue heron visits our pond

This guy visits every once in a while, usually to search for fish in our pond. He sometimes perches on the roof of the tower, then swoops down to the pond. He's very wary. I shot this yesterday from our living room.

One day I was sitting beside it at my dining table and was astonished to look up and watch a heron "helicoptering" down into it. I have to admit I blew out the door and chased him off. I love my fish.; June 10, 2011 7:46 PM
