I spent about 3 hours on the boat with Paul and Julie. Julie wrote a perfect essay on their worldwide travels over the past 5 years. It's their only home. There's no fall-back homestead on land. These are 2 wonderful human beings, talented, spirited, competent, sailing the ever-changing seas in this beautiful vessel. Everything is right here. Aesthetics, hoo! If you must spend a lot of time in a small space, it's immeasurably helpful if it looks like this. Everything your eyes rest on is lovely. Every square inch is beautifully maintained.
(I gotta get this book done!)

hello Lloyd! I write to you from Ucluelet on Vancouver Islands west coast. I have been following your blog for some time now and i just love it! I find your blog and your books good inspiration for the things i do in everyday life.
This morning I logged on to you blog to see a familiar face! Paul Smulders is my girlfriends father! They had left Victoria in early September and last i had heard they were still in the San Fran area.
I am familiar with Godfrey Stevens work and have heard that he and Paul were friends, It feels like one of those small world moments!
Keep up the good work, I look forward to the small houses book!
One last thing. Do you have any good references on building Floathouses? I am trying to get a project "afloat" and am a bit stuck.
thanks

Can you add a link to Julie's essay?
Sheldon: There are tons of houseboat books on Amazon; I couldn't really tell you which ones are good. Good to hear from you!
izzit: It will be in the book on tiny houses.
