The shortest street in York (35 meters long) was known as 'Whitnourwhatnourgate' during the sixteenth century but took its present name when it became the location of a pillory and whipping cart where the city's petty criminals were publicly flogged. ("Gate" is the Viking term for "street.")

HELLO, Ive had your book " Home Work" for a while and decided to plug it in my blog for the Off Grid group out in Terlingua Texas.
http://offgridterlingua.blogspot.com/
I used to live off grid for 6 years in Alaska and I built my own home beyond roads and power. Now Im getting ready to move out to the desert of Terlingua with a bunch of off gridders. John Wells of the Field Lab is just down the road from me.
Check out my blog links on the bottom of my page and check out my previous posts on going off grid.
